Week 7 We got back from Lisbon on Tuesday and spent the next two days catching up on sleep. I showed Savanna around Vigo- unfortunately it’s been raining and quite cold- and showed her Vigo’s crazy nightlife. We went shopping on Thursday and mistakenly wore skirts. It was supposed to be the warmest day- we got a bit too excited. Grandma- beware I had no say in the matter to follow... I hate to admit it, but we also went to Starbucks 4 times- she has an iced coffee addiction worse than mine. Admittedly I’ve grown to like hot coffee and have actually found myself craving it from time to time. Gasp. I promise I won’t be able to drink hot coffee at home though- when I return it’ll be back to iced coffee everyday, all day. We also visited the Modern Art Museum. I was super excited about this since it's something I've been wanting to do and hadn't gotten around to. The main exhibit consisted of videos, sculptures, and paintings to depict the shipyard narrative. Apparently, the artists wanted to have the exhibit in the shipyard where the work was created, but as you can imagine it was incredibly unrealistic. My favorite part was that the artists not only created paintings and videos to tell the story, but they also recycled waste that was pulled from the shipyard to create new art. On Saturday I flew with savanna to Madrid. Check out "A Taste of Madrid" to see what we did!
